What,s New with My Site?

EXIT 13 RETURN LATER IN 2014 WITH A NEW CD ALBUM , IN A SIMILAR VEIN TO THE PREVIOUS SINGLES AND ALBUMS THEY HAVE BEEN RELEASING OVER THE YEARS, STILL IN THE POP PSYCHEDELIC MOULD, WITH A TINGE OF COUTRY AND FOLK.
THE BAND HAVE ACCUMULATED MANY REVIEWS AND RADIO PLAYS, ALSO PLAYING MANY GIGS INCLUDING A GERMAN TOUR AND MANY LONDON DATES.
THE CD "THE RETURN OF CAPTAIN FRIDAY"SHOULD BE PLAYED LIKE A DOUBLE VINYL ALBUM WITH POPS AND CRACKLES SIGNIFYING THE START AND END OF EACH SIDE. (OR YOU CAN PLAY THE ALBUM AS A WHOLE IF YOU LIKE!)
THE WRITER OF THE SONGS, STEVE MANN, USES HIS MANY YEARS OF INFLUENCES AND EXPERIENCE TO TAKE YOU ON A POP JOURNEY OF THE MIND USING ALL THE SOUNDS AND RECORDING TECHNIQUES USED TO CREATE MANY OF THE CLASSIC ALBUMS OF THE PAST (THE BYRDS, T.REX, ROXY MUSIC ETC) THAT HAVE INFLUENCED EXIT 13.
SO PUT THE NEEDLE ON THE RECORD, CLOSE YOUR EYES AND LET EXIT 13 TAKE YOU OFF INTO THE SLIGHTLY STRANGE WORLD WHERE THE CLOUDS ARE PURPLE AND ALL SONGS ARE IN E MAJOR!

EXIT 13 teletext review october 2004-11-02

EXIT 13 are a four piece band who are effectively a vehicle for steve mann the founder and MD of the longstanding Ipswich Indie label Backwater.

Their third album confirms Mann as an indefatigable low rent Beck ,an auteur as happily to draw from electro-stomping glam rock and ambient experimentalism as from indie rock.

Its jerkyjokiness can lead it into novelty territory but the Dylanesque "not us this time" and TREX like "How do you do" betry an original talent.

Sturmey Archer is available from here as well.
